Who We Are

We are a community group based in Leeds whose aim is to improve the mental and physical health and wellbeing of black people in Leeds.

It is widely reported that black people do not seek out mental health, which is primarily due to stigma and lack of confidence in the cultutal abilities of service providers.

We are bridging this gap by bringing service providers directly in touch with the hard to reach black community to engage in conversations that improve the take up of services from minority groups. By doing this we increase black people's confidence to access these services.

What We Do

We provide a range of activities to increase awareness and reduce adverse mental health problems of BAME people.

Our activities include:

  • provision of educational information

  • signposting to local service providers

  • events and workshops

  • provision of food hampers to financially challenged individuals
